One in every five Indians suffers from some kind of mental health issue, according to World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates. Covid-19 pandemic and the extended lockdown in 2020 only served to worsen the situation. Along with the concerns about physical health, came isolation and depression due to long periods of social disconnection during the extended lockdown, anxiety related to fear of losing jobs, and an increase in stress due to having to cope with the new normal.
